After redesigning the Titan pick-up truck, Nissan have turned their attention to another ancient model within its line-up: the Armada full size SUV. This new second generation model debuted before the start of the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. For the 2017 Nissan Armada will follow the footsteps of the Infiniti QX 80 cousin by moving into a Nissan Patrol platform. It will retain its body on frame deign and the eight passenger seating, but get new engineering, styling and safety features.
2017 Nissan Armada Interior and Exterior
Like the exterior, the interior will probably get changes, too. Spy shots haven’t shown any of its interior, but as with most 2017 Nissan Armada mid-cycle updates, there are great chances for a reworked instrument panel. This will very likely focus on the design and technology of the centre stack and gauges, and the latest GM infotainment technology may be included. On the interior, the Armada will have leather upholstery, dual zone automatic climate control system, keyless starting an access, remote-controlled starting, a power third row seat, the 2017 Nissan Armada around View Monitor, power lift gates, fog lamps as well as 20 inch wheels. It also gets a sunroof, ventilated and heated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel and rear DVD entertainment featuring two 7.0 inch screens. It will have suite of various safety features which include backup collision intervention, forward collision warning and Around View Monitors that can detect moving objects.
2017 Nissan Armada the exterior styling will feature a chromed version of the Nissan’s V Motion grille. Daytime running lights, fog lights and LED headlights standard on the higher line models. Its taillights will also be LEDs. It will have Functional air intakes located on the front fenders, and all the 4 fenders will have contrasting paint in the wheel flares. Its overall look will predictably be macho, although it will also adopt several soft, organic Infiniti QX80. Inside, the Armada offers seating for eight with second- and third-row bench seats.
2017 Nissan Armada Engine
Under its hood the 2017 Nissan Armada will feature the new 5.6 liter Endurance V 8 engine making 390 hp and 401 pound feet of torque. This engine will feature direct injection as well as 2017 Nissan Armada VVEL which offers variable valve lift and variable valve timing for both the exhaust and intake sides. It will be mated to a brand new 7-speed automatic transmission system capable of downshift rev matching. Its acceleration should be among the best within the full size SUV segment.
2017 Nissan Armada Price and Release Date
The 2017 Nissan Armada is expected to hit showrooms mid-2016.The previous Nissan Armada started at around $39,000, and in case the new Armada model sticks within that ballpark, you are almost certainly looking onto the bargain QX80 because it starts at a price of $63,000.
